Trevor Bohn
Co-Founder
Mr. Bohn is a co-founding partner of KAL Capital and is responsible for developing the firm’s culture, vision and strategy to execute it. For nearly 20 years, clients in high growth industrial sectors have relied on his advice when contemplating mergers, acquisitions and accessing the capital markets. Entrepreneurs, families and private equity investors have been his primary clientele relying on his expertise in a wide range of mandates from selling businesses to multi-national public companies, to sourcing private equity buy-outs and balance sheet recapitalizations.
Prior to launching KAL Capital, Mr. Bohn established and led the Aerospace, Defense & Government Services practice in 2009 for Salem Partners LLC, a Los Angeles-based Investment Banking & Wealth Management company. Mr. Bohn began his career in the late 1990s with Banc of America Securities LLC as a member of their General Industrial Group with a focus on large-cap Aerospace & Defense. Mr. Bohn is a native of the Midwestern US, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and resides in Orange County, California with his wife and two daughters.
Ryan Murphy
Co-Founder
Mr. Murphy is a co-founding partner of KAL Capital and his highest priorities include creating a culture of winning for our clients and recruiting world-class professionals to build the KAL Capital team. In addition to firm management responsibilities, Mr. Murphy’s duties include originating and executing mergers, acquisitions and capital markets transactions for the firm’s clientele. Mr. Murphy is well known for obtaining tremendous value creation throughout a transaction’s lifecycle by developing unique and competitive markets for each situation.
Prior to launching KAL Capital, Mr. Murphy was a founding member of the Aerospace, Defense & Government Services practice for Salem Partners LLC, a Los Angeles-based Investment Banking & Wealth Management company. Mr. Murphy began his career in the mid 2000s with Barclay’s Capital. Mr. Murphy is a native of the South Bay region of Los Angeles, graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University and resides near his childhood home in Palos Verdes, California with his wife and three children.
Trevor McKinnon
Director
Mr. McKinnon began his career in aerospace investment banking in 2017, focusing on M&A transaction advisory to business owners throughout technology and manufacturing supply chains. In early 2020, Mr. McKinnon transitioned to the company side, holding operational strategy roles with several high-technology aerospace ventures including Hover Inc (avionics) and Reliable Robotics (autonomy) where he led a wide range of corporate development, strategy and capital raising functions. Mr.
McKinnon joined KAL Capital as a Director of the new Critical Technologies Advisory practice in 2023 with a mission to provide comprehensive advisory to founders, including venture and growth equity raises and M&A.
Amir K Ragui
Associate
Mr. Ragui joined KAL Capital in January 2017. Prior to joining KAL Capital, Mr. Ragui was an analyst at Salem Partners where he participated in multiple middle market M&A and capital raising transactions in the Aerospace & Defense, Real Estate, and Media & Entertainment industries. He also worked for Takenaka Partners, an investment bank focused on Global 500 Asian companies and their subsidiaries, where he provided general deal support on both buy-side and sell-side transactions.
Gert Loechle
Associate
Mr. Loechle joined KAL Capital Markets in January 2021. Prior to joining KAL Capital, Mr. Loechle was an analyst at D.A. Davidson & Co., where he participated in multiple middle market M&A and capital raising transactions, with an emphasis in the Aerospace & Defense and Engineering & Construction Industries. Mr. Loechle graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance & International Business from the University of San Diego.
William Connelly

Mr. Connelly joined KAL Capital Markets in March 2020. Prior to joining KAL Capital, Mr. Connelly was an analyst at Harvey & Company where he participated in multiple middle market M&A and capital raising transactions, with an emphasis in the Aerospace & Defense and Medical Manufacturing Industries. Mr. Connelly graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.
Garrett Calvert

Mr. Calvert joined KAL Capital in October 2024. Prior to joining KAL Capital, Mr. Calvert was a Analyst at Harvey & Company, where he helped source 15 buy-side transactions focusing on the Aerospace & Defense and Industrial Sectors. Mr. Calvert graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of San Diego.
Nikheil Patel

Mr. Patel joined KAL Capital in March 2024. Prior to joining KAL Capital, Mr. Patel was an mergers and acquisitions analyst at TreasureHunter, where he worked with C-suite executives and high-net-worth individuals from the commerce, entertainment, and technology industries in Europe and the United States. Mr. Patel graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a minor in Computer Science from Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. Mr. Patel was also a member of the EnCap Investments & LCM Group Alternative Asset Management Center at Southern Methodist University.
Trent Porter
Analyst
Mr. Porter joined KAL Capital in July 2024. Prior to joining KAL Capital, Mr. Porter was an intern at Validus Capital, providing high-net-worth individuals with family office services and access to private equity through strategic GP co-investments. Mr. Porter graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Management in Finance and a minor in Accounting from the Freeman Business School at Tulane University. Mr. Porter was also a member of the Burkenroad Equity Research Program & Darwin Fenner Student Managed Fund at Tulane University.
